Every lady wants to look good, hot and attractive all day long. Little wonder why most women spend precious dollars on purchasing cosmetics and beauty products to enhance their look. While it is absolutely normal to go the extra mile to get the look that you dream, have you ever taken the time to go through your beauty products expiry date embed on your cosmetic products? I guess you haven’t. Well, as much as cosmetic products are good for many things, ignoring salient details like beauty products expiry date on your cosmetic products can result in dire health consequences if you are not aware of beauty products expiry date.
Check your makeup box right away
Do a quick check of your cosmetic box and you’ll be surprised to find jars of face creams that you hardly use, lip gloss squeezed of every dollar used purchasing it and a host of other beauty products that you have never use. And while it may sound like wisdom to have all these beauty products because you feel they might come in handy, once passed their expiration date, these cosmetics can become toxic and cause irritations or infections if applied.
According to a cosmetic chemist, every unopened or well-formulated cosmetic is generally designed to last for a couple of years, but then, once the product is opened and air hits the formula, it starts to degrade and may only last for six months. So, to ensure that you don’t end up with irritation on your skin, read the below beauty protecting tips on the perfect time to throw away what cosmetic product.
Face Makeup
Most face makeup is designed to last approximately six months for liquids and two years for powdered products. After this period, it is only normal for you to toss them away. Using them past this period may result in conditions you may not be prepared to deal with. What’s more? By using these products past their expiry date you increase the chances of bacterial growth that may give rise to break out and irritations.
Mascara
I love my mascara and can’t do without them. Of course, you do, but once they are expired, they become a breeding ground for bacteria. And don’t forget, preservatives in mascara can do only very little. More so, the average lifespan of mascara is 6 months, once it has exceeded this time, your best bet is to toss it away. Except you are ready to treat skin infections and irritations, you would want to kiss goodbye to that highly cherished mascara once it is past its use.
Eyeliner and Eye Shadow
We all love our eyeliners and eyeshadows, don’t we? I guess we do. Well, beyond the enhancing capacity of eyeliners and eyeshadows, we must always look at product specification to determine when they would be expiring. Trust me, you don’t want to risk your eyes for a product that cost only a few dollars. As such you should look to do away with an eyeliner that is passed its expiry date. To this end, liquid eyeliners are built to last three months while cream eyeshadows can last up to six-month max.
Lipstick and Lipliner
This is arguably one of the most used beauty products in the market today. Every lady seems to have amazing blends of lipstick to enhance her beauty. But just before you apply that lipstick, have you checked its expiry date? If you haven’t, now will be a good time to check. Most lipsticks and gloss are designed so they can last up to two years, past this time, it could become toxic and cause serious irritations or infection.
I agree with all of these most of the girls and woman’s had thousands of makeup products and they didn’t even know that all of that had expiration date. And is very risk when it comes toxic or unwearable.
Using expired makeup can be very risky it can lead to infections amd allergies on skin, eyes or the whole body. Its better to trash those old makeup health worth more than that. Thanks for your comment.
